and so it ends...
My life as an undergrad is unofficially over… 16 years of school *and* exams have come to an end and all I have to do is await the results… This semester’s results will be the most nerve-wrecking for me as I *must* do very well for all my classes or else I will get a pay cut… *cringe* So I’ve done all I can, and I guess I’ll have to wait and see what happens…
The whole semester had been pretty tough on me… I had to take 2 Business modules which meant that I had a lot more work to do… This was because the subject content was less familiar to me… In addition to that, they were both introductory modules… Such modules are usually designed in such a way that there’s a lot of width but with no depth at all… Means you have to study a lot of different concepts and memorise them too…
It was also tough as work at the café became a little bit more demanding… I had more customers coming in and a lot of planning and liaising to do… There was a lot going on and I even mixed up some dates… Thank goodness Liangcai was around to save me… Thanks Bro!
Oh, and finally, the exams this sem were the *worst* ever!! I had a paper on the first and last day with 3 of them scattered in between… Lots of things to study and just generally lots of pressure to do well due to my borderline CAP… sigh… So, I’ve been deprived of many hours of sleep and leisure… And the stress was just amazing…
The semester also had its good moments… I had a blast recording the ELang Musical with all my friends… Really loved the way it turned out… =) I think this was also the sem where I managed to deliver a good presentation in all the required classes… So, I am very pleased with that too… This sem also allowed me to get closer to some of my fellow Honourables… These people are namely Matt-hiu, Dee, Pants and Pix… I’ve been hanging out with these guys more often; sharing stuff, jokes (dirty and otherwise ;p) and having lots of lunch and dinner sessions too! We have to keep hanging out even after graduation, ok?
There’s also Cheryl Freshie of course… She’s the girl who forced me to take the Gender module, and therefore prolonging my exam suffering… Hehe… Cheryl and I are in 2 modules together and this a great thing cos I was really able to learn more through my discussions with her and our study sessions too (although yesterday’s study session was more of a chit-chat one)… Plus, as she was doing Bahasa Indonesia this semester, she had to keep bugging me to edit her silly and childish composition assignments which reminded me of my work in Primary 1… Haha! Kidding la, you actually did really well for all of them… Cheryl’s also a fellow Survivor fan!! As is Pants! So we all share our Survivor insights too! =)
The reality of the end of my undergrad days haven’t really set in… I guess it’s because I’m still exhausted… There were some bad times, but I think the good times just made them seem ok… And I know for sure I will miss school, but am also looking forward to begin a new chapter in my life…
Speaking of new chapters in life, my grandfather is ill and in hospital… The doctors have put it to us that he doesn’t have much time left… I visited him last night and saw that he was in a very painful struggle to hold on to his life… I just hope that he will pass in the most peaceful and painless way possible…
